Accompanist

Martin Johnson

A Yorkshireman by birth and a chemistry graduate, Martin took early retirement from a career in the pharmaceutical industry and moved to Cumbria eleven years ago since when he has enjoyed a wide variety of musical activities which the area so richly provides. These have included accompanying the Carliol Choir, being an official accompanist for the Carlisle Festival of Music and Drama, organising an annual competition for talented young musicians as part of the Lanercost Festival, http://www.lanercostfestival.co.uk singing in the Brampton Chamber Choir, http://www.bramptonchoir.org.uk and Gretna Choral Society and playing the organ at Brampton Methodist Church. He also enjoys teaching piano to pupils of all ages.
